Can my granddaughter refuse to go to her BSD's house for visits?
BSD is biological sperm donor. I hesitate to say father. He is a nice enough man and responsible financially but emotionally he chooses his steps kids and the kids he had with his present wife over my granddaughter EVERY time. He promises my granddaughter he will come to her events and doesn't show up. She hates to go there. Once when it was her weekend to go she called to make the arrangements to meet to be picked up and he and the wife had gone on a cruise and hadn't even bothered to call and say they wouldn't be home.
She is almost 13 and lives in Michigan. Can she refuse to go?

Where is her mother? At 13 one never knows what might be in her head that she's not telling. I'd do as suggested. If there is no court order, she can absolutely say no. If not, she can talk to the judge privately and tell him/her why, and unless it's a criminal thing, no one else ever has to know. The judge ALWAYS does what is best for the CHILD, not the 'sperm-doner/dad. So, please let her decide, then follow the proper rules to make it happen. You are such a loving grandma, and I admire you for caring so much, Hugs.

I believe you would have to go to court [if there is a court ordergiving him visitation rights] and request that they be revoked. Take the 13 year old with you...I believe at that age the courts will listen to what she has to say. If there is no court order, than she just needs to stay at home.
