hotdogs, ham, and hamburgers are just as unhealthy for a dog as they are for people,if not MORE unhealthy. Why would you give the dog that? Get her to the vet and they will fix the problem and prescribe a food to help her gain wieght. And you dont give puppy food to nursing moms, you buy a special food for NURSING DOGS from your vet.

dogs usually wont eat much for a day or 2 after birth. her appitie is just now starting to come back.try giving her gerber stage 2 ground turkey,(human baby food). if she'll eat this than mix a jar in her dry food. or you can boil chicken shred it mix with the kibble and pour some of the broth over it. call vet in am.

Ok good glad you understand letting her breed wasn't a good idea so i won't say anymore than i hope you get the pups you're keeping and mom spayed and neutered and whichever home you choose for the other one does the same.

Normally i would say stop feeding her the human food. Of course she's going to hold out for that. But since she's nursing you need her to eat. Call your vet. Ask them what they reccomend. Can you feed a canned variety of the dry food that she'll eat? She really needs the extra protein and calcium provided in the puppy food. The hot dogs and hamburger are not providing enough calcium at the least. Don't feed ham at all, pork products are not good for a dog.

I would call your vet and ask what they reccomend and take mom in for another check to make sure she's doing fine.

well you need to stop feeding her the human food. when she gets hungry she will eat i promise. Try changing to another brand of food like pedigree. She may not be getting the nutrients that she needs from the food she is on now. i hope this helps. i have 2 females that had puppies Friday and i know have a total of 19 puppies between the two.
