Latest Adobe Flash Player for Linux Ubuntu (Won't work on my computer, why?)?

I just barely got the internet for my computer and I have the OS of Linux Ubuntu, and I am trying to go to my online high school, but need Flash Player to do so. No matter which flash player I install from Adobe, it doesn't work on the computer. Can you help me?

open Synaptic package manager and search for flash player, select the newest one and install that.
