Which Oracle certificate to get?

Which Oracle certificate to get?

I am a QA Engineer and trying to upgrade my skills in Oracle so that in future I can become Oracle Developer or DBA or Apps.
I have good knowledge in SQL not in PLSQL,I was looking at various kinds of Certification and couldn't figure out which one to write.
Any suggestions, thanks

Well first you have to make a decision as to you want to become an Admin or a programmer. Oracle provide different learning path for both of these, and both use SQL but with very different implementation and application.

you can either become a PLSQL developer and work along with developers, or you can become an Oracle System Administrator. OCP DBA (check website for the latest certs)

As far as oracle admin is concerned you may need to get additional knowledge of operating system like Unix/ Linux, Solaris, AIX Its important as most of the places i have seen oracle is running on various flavours of linux/Unix

Regards
