I am having difficulty with a HPUX C8000 UNIX Workstation. Xserver
difficulty, anyone able to help.? Getting error message "error (pid 1734): Server for display dtws7288:0 can't be started.
/usr/bin/X11/X: ERROR - Detected GVID graphics devices but
the gvid_info kernel module did not load successfully.
/usr/bin/X11/X: Unable to start an Xserver. Exiting
I have tried installing a new graphics card, system board and processor as well as changing the mouse and keyboard etc but none of this has helped. Neither has hooking up a different monitor and monitor cable.
Anyone come across the error and how did you fix the problem?

Your problem has nothing to do with faulty hardware. The problem lies in the fact that you have not installed the correct kernel driver for your graphics card. What OS are you running? HP-UX or Linux? If Linux, which distro do you have on it?
Since I don't monitor specific questions, if you want to email me through my profile then I will see if I can help.
