Windows Xp installation?


When i try to install xp on my sony vaio laptop, i load up the cd, and i have to press enter to enter the setup the xp setup, and i get a blue color screen with the error("Windows couldn't find any hard drives...") i know that they have came out with xp on my sony vaio nr-120e not too long ago, because many people were demanding xp for it, well, is there anything i have to do before i install it.

Hey,

Well first of all do you have a hard drive in the computer? When you install an operating system you need something to embed it into. Basically, if you don't have a hard drive then you won't be able to install your OS.

You might have bought the laptop without a hard drive. That is a very common thing to do because people like to purchase hard drives that are bigger than the defaults to install.

Try formatting the hard disk first and then start with a clean installation of XP
